Description

This conference is for ELSAs who have completed the five days of ELSA training. To maintain accreditation for this academic year, ELSAs will need to attend at least two out of the three supervision sessions which have been offered. The ELSA conference is the supervision offer for the summer term.

There will be a keynote speech delivered by Sheila Burton, Educational Psychologist, who originally developed the ELSA project. This will focus on how to promote positive engagement with pupils in ELSA sessions.

ELSAs will also have the opportunity to attend two out of five workshops (one in the morning and one in the afternoon) – topics are: Counselling Skills, Autism, Emotion Coaching, Lego Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Workshops will be allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Sheila will be running one of the workshops.

11.30am – 12.30pm – Workshops 

12.30pm – 1.30pm – Lunch 

1.30pm – 2.30pm – Workshops, as above

2.30pm – 2.45pm – Break

2.45pm – 3.15pm – Plenary and feedback questionnaires

Outcome:

ELSAs will have gained confidence and gained new tools 

to support the development of children and young people’s 

emotional literacy skills.
