A new resource will be available from next week. Excellent ELSAs: Top tips for emotional literacy support assistants, written by Sheila Burton, is a best practice guide that deals with topics raised frequently in ELSA supervision meetings. Based on many years of working closely with ELSAs and those who support them, it is written as a reference manual for ELSAs, schools and the educational psychologists who deliver training and supervision. As well as dealing with the many tricky issues that often arise during this work, the book contains guidance on how to enhance conversations with pupils by using essential counselling skills and a range of practical resources. It will be available via the ELSA products page of the Resources section on this website, price £16 plus delivery.

Registration
It’s great to see Educational Psychology services in local areas registering as members of the ELSA Network. This allows the ELSA contact EPs in those areas exclusive access to the closed forum for sharing information, ideas, posting enquiries, etc. Those areas that sign up are indicated in the area directory as ELSA Network registered. If your service wishes to register, please go to the registration page on the website. The annual fee supports the costs of the website and will assist with further development of ELSA nationally.
